Tyler Farrar Peace out!

Tyler Farrar: Peace out!

On retiring….

Tyler announced his retirement this weekend.  We got to chat to him here in Canada, here’s what he had to say:

So, how was your last race buffet? Ha! Uh I don’t think I’ll miss the race buffets too much.  There are a few things I’ll miss but not the mass produced pasta.

What are you looking forward to the most next year? Skiing all winter. I think it’s all been amazing, it’s been a great adventure but sometimes it’s time to start a new chapter, and I’m pretty ready for it.

Looking back, best moment? Worst Moment? There’s a lot… there’s big victories which are nice, there’s great moments within the team.  For me personally, when I finished my first Tour de France, that first turn onto the Champs Elysee, and seeing the Arc de Triomphe at the end of the street, it’s so iconic, it’s the thing as a kid you dream about so much, that really touched me then and still I’d hold that as one of my all time highlights. Yea, there’s been tough moments too, obviously what happened with my friend Wouter (Weylandts) in the Giro years ago. but that is life, you have to take the good with the bad. On the whole it’s been a pretty wild ride, and I’ve been lucky to live it.

Will you finally open some social media accounts now? Hah! Probably not, I’ll be even further off the grid at this point.

Well Ty, chapeau, we will miss you, and come visit us at races once in a while!
